Fall-Inspired Henna Kits: What to Include for Your Autumn Designs (Perfect for Beginners!)

If you're new to the world of henna, fall is the perfect time to explore this beautiful art form. With the season's rich colors and cozy vibes, henna designs naturally complement autumn’s earthy tones. Whether you're just getting started or looking to try your first henna kit, we’ve got you covered with the essentials to create stunning, seasonal henna designs.

In this beginner-friendly guide, we’ll show you exactly what to include in your fall-inspired henna kit—so you can confidently dive into henna, even if you’ve never tried it before!

What You’ll Need in Your First Fall Henna Kit

  1. Beginner-Friendly Henna Kit
As a beginner, starting with an easy-to-use henna kit is the best way to learn. Our beginner henna kits include everything you need to get started—pre-mixed natural henna paste and/or professional grade powder and oils along with step-by-step instructions. These kits are designed to help you learn the basics while creating beautiful fall-inspired designs.

The natural henna paste provides a rich, reddish-brown stain, which is perfect for autumn and safe for all skin types. Fore even better color choose a kit that contains fresh henna powder. With fresh, high-quality henna, you can ensure your designs come out vibrant without harmful chemicals like PPD.

Pick a kit that's in your budget and you are set! My favorite is the Big Bad Henna Kit because it contains both ready made henna and henna powder.

  2. Simple Fall-Inspired Design Ideas

Focus on practicing your line work, building up your confidence in creating these natural patterns by hand. You don't need to aim for perfection right away; the goal is to enjoy the process and develop your skills over time.

Take inspiration from nature around you: falling leaves, swirling vines, and organic patterns all make for stunning, beginner-friendly henna designs that capture the essence of fall. As you practice, your linework will improve, and you'll be able to take on more intricate designs.

  3. Orange Copper Fire Glitter
Adding a touch of sparkle to your henna designs is an easy way to elevate your look, even as a beginner. Our Orange Copper Fire glitter is the perfect addition to your fall henna kit. The warm coppery hues complement the natural tones of henna, giving your designs a beautiful, autumnal shimmer.

Simply sprinkle the glitter over the freshly applied henna paste to accentuate certain areas or add it to your dried design for extra sparkle. Glitter is a beginner-friendly way to make your designs pop without complicating the application process.

All kits have the option to add on a surprise glitter color. If you want the orange copper fire, simply request it in the notes at checkout.

How to Use Your Beginner Henna Kit

Now that you know what to include in your kit, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to applying your first henna designs:

  1. Prep Your Skin
Start with clean, dry skin. Avoid lotions or oils before applying the henna, as they can interfere with the stain.

  2. Apply the Henna Paste
If you are using powder follow our step by step Mini-Mix video to first mix the henna. Then with your cone, carefully apply henna in smooth, steady lines. Focus on the basic elements that you find in the book with your kit. Start small and simple to get comfortable with the flow of the henna cone.

  3. Leave the Henna on for Four Hours
Allow the henna paste to dry completely and leave the dried henna on for as long as possible. Four plus hours is ideal. The longer you leave it on, the darker and richer the stain will be. After four hours, gently scrape off whatever henna is still on WITHOUT using water.

  4. Add Glitter!
While your henna paste is still wet, lightly sprinkle Orange Copper Fire glitter (or whatever colors you want) over the design.

  5. Protect Your Design: After scraping off the henna, avoid water for as long as possible. Apply olive or coconut oil to protect the design and help it last longer.
