Fresh Henna Crop Alert: Why We're Loving the 2024 ORa Henna

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our 2024 ORa henna crop! This year’s batch (harvested in December 2024) is already delivering stunning results, and we’re eager to share the details with you. Here’s what makes this year’s ORa BAQ henna powder so special:

Vibrant Color and Reliable Dye Release

The 2024 ORa henna crop is leaving gorgeous, rich stains that we know you’ll love. While it’s slightly less stringy than usual, the texture remains fantastic—smooth, easy to work with, and perfect for creating intricate designs. If you currently mix your ORa with Jamila to cut the string, you might try this without any Jamila.

As always, we only sell Body Art Quality henna, and this crop is no exception. It's safe for both hair and skin use.

During our testing, we found that the optimal dye release time is approximately 10 hours using Beachcombers' Favorite henna recipe at 80°F. That said, we’re seeing excellent results within a range of 8 to 24 hours. Remember, your environment and recipe may vary, so we always recommend testing for dye release to find what works best for you.

Organic Certification Update

As you may know, there’s been a significant change to organic certification requirements this year in the USA. Both henna growers and importers are now required to pay for separate certifications, which poses a financial challenge for small businesses like ours. While our ORa henna no longer carries the USDA Organic label, nothing else has changed:

• Pesticide-Free Guarantee: Our henna is still grown without pesticides.
• Sustainable Farming Practices: It continues to be cultivated using traditional, environmentally friendly methods.
• Direct Sourcing: We work directly with growers to ensure consistent quality.
