Traveling with Henna: Essential Tips for Your Flight

Hey Henna Enthusiasts,

Planning to bring your henna on a plane? Whether you're heading to a festival, a destination wedding, or a henna party, here's a handy guide to ensure your henna arrives in perfect condition and ready to use.

1. Freeze Your Henna Cones:
To keep your henna fresh, freeze henna cones before traveling. Pack them with ice packs in an insulated bag. Be sure both the henna and the ice packs are frozen HARD. I really like the refrigerated medicine travel cases to use in my carry-on, but any insulated cooler will work. You can also use a Yeti tumbler or something similar, but I find the ice packs last much longer and keep the henna colder.

2. Follow TSA Guidelines:
If your henna is in your carry-on, make sure the ice packs are still frozen to pass through TSA security. Melted ice packs won’t be allowed.

3. Pack a Backup Kit:
Just in case, consider packing a henna backup kit. Include henna powder, essential oils, empty cones, a carrot bag, and a spatula. This way, you can mix fresh henna at your destination if needed.

4. Secure Your Supplies:
Ensure all your henna supplies are securely packed to avoid any leaks or spills. Use ziplock bags and containers to keep everything organized and protected.

5. Freeze Again ASAP:
When you reach your destination freeze both your henna and ice packs as soon as you can.

6. Enjoy the Journey:
With these tips, you can relax and enjoy your journey, knowing your henna is well taken care of and will be fresh and ready at your destination.

Happy travels and happy henna-ing!
Jody
